Xeper

From the Egyptian verb meaning "to come into being," pronounced kheh-fer. The central practice and operative principle of the Temple of Set: the deliberate development of the practitioner’s individual self into a stable and divine identity, deliberately separate from rather than continuous with the natural order. Where most religious systems direct the practitioner toward union with the larger cosmos, Xeper directs toward intensification of the individual self until that self constitutes a discrete divine consciousness. The term is at the centre of contemporary Setian doctrine.
