Michael A. Aquino 1946–2019Founder; Magus 1975–1996
American occultist and career US Army psychological operations officer who joined the Church of Satan in 1969, rose to senior priestly rank, and led the 1975 resignation that produced the Temple of Set. Served as Magus from 1975 to 1996, retiring from the Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1994. The principal documentary architect of the Temple’s doctrine, structure, and published materials; The Crystal Tablet of Set (1985) is the consolidated reference text for his work. Don Webb 1960–Magus 1996–2002; principal post-Aquino theorist
American author and Setian who served as Magus following Aquino’s retirement from the office. His Uncle Setnakt’s Essential Guide to the Left Hand Path (1999) is the most widely circulated introductory account of contemporary Setian practice and doctrine outside the Temple’s own publications.

Stephen Edred Flowers 1953–Long-serving Setian and director of the Order of the Trapezoid
American writer and independent scholar of Germanic religion. Initiated in 1980, he became the principal figure in the Order of the Trapezoid’s study of Germanic and Indo-European esoteric material. Publishes scholarly and Setian work under both his given name and the pen name Edred Thorsson.
