Stang
A forked staff used as the principal ritual implement in some currents of traditional witchcraft, particularly those descending from Robert Cochrane’s Clan of Tubal Cain. The stang represents the Witch Father (the horned god, the Devil of folklore, the Man in Black) and functions as the axis of the working space — the spatial focus equivalent to the Wiccan altar. It is conventionally cut from blackthorn or another folkloric tree and is decorated with horns, bones, or other associated material.
