Magick

Aleister Crowley’s spelling of the operative-magical art, distinguished from the common-English "magic" (stage illusion) by the trailing letter K. Crowley defined magick as "the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will" and treated everything from a banishing pentagram to making a cup of tea as potentially magical operations. The spelling has been adopted widely in subsequent ceremonial-magical, Thelemic, and Wiccan literature; modern usage often retains it as a marker distinguishing operative magic from stage performance.
