Rose Cross

The defining emblem of Rosicrucianism: a Latin (or other) cross with a rose at its centre. Numerous variants exist — the heraldic-style Rose Croix of the Scottish Rite, the seven-petalled rose of the early manifestos, the Golden Dawn’s Rose Cross lamen worn by Inner Order initiates with its elaborate Qabalistic and elemental correspondences. The symbol unites the redemptive-suffering Christian cross with the unfolding-petal rose of esoteric beauty, and is the most consistent visual marker of the Rosicrucian current across its varied modern bodies.
