Hermetic Qabalah

The Western esoteric adaptation of Jewish Kabbalah, developed through Renaissance Christian-Kabbalistic writers and substantially elaborated by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in the late nineteenth century. Hermetic Qabalah uses the Tree of Life as a master diagram of correspondences — astrological, elemental, alchemical, tarot — and as the structural curriculum of initiatory work. It differs from the Jewish original in its non-Jewish religious framing, its integration with Tarot and ceremonial magic, and its operative rather than purely contemplative orientation.
