Diana
The Roman goddess of the moon, the wild, and the hunt, equivalent to the Greek Artemis. In modern witchcraft she is the principal goddess of the Dianic line founded by Z. Budapest in 1971, where she is invoked as a singular Goddess of whom other names (Hecate, Demeter, Persephone) are aspects. In Stregheria she is the mother of Aradia and the central figure of the order. Diana’s identification with the moon and with women’s rites makes her the recurring goddess-name across the feminist-witchcraft currents specifically.
